I remember when I first started thinking about publishing North Mount Pleasant Magazine ; I’d get some weird looks from people wondering why. I like the fact we are publishing North Mount Pleasant’s most beautiful homes inside this issue of North Mount Pleasant Magazine . Who doesn’t enjoy reading about homes, and looking at their breathtaking photos, especially when it’s in their neighborhood? Whenever I think about publishing articles about the homes and neighborhoods that surrounds us, I can’t help but think about HGTV. It was launched in December of 1994, and only one of 104 cable channels starting at that time. Of all those cable start-ups, only two continue today and HGTV is one of those. North Mount Pleasant is the only place Mount Pleasant can grow. There are considerably more new homes being built and sold in North Mount Pleasant than in South Mount Pleasant. In 2019, north of the Isle of Palms connector, which is North Mount Pleasant, the average home price was $496,325. There were 22% more homes sold in North Mount Pleasant in 2019 then sold in South Mount Pleasant, south of Isle of Palms Connector. In 2018 that percentage was only 8%. These numbers clearly establish where the growth is for Mount Pleasant.
